An in-depth article outlining the business challenges posed by export control regulations is available for download from this page.
The article has been written by Ernst & Young Global Export Control Services (GECS) Group, which is dedicated to providing integrated export control management services to its clients.
Export controls are restrictions to protect national security, and prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and the support of terrorist activities. Export controls apply not only to the export of military items, but to any items that have a potential military application (known as dual-use items), or to everyday items that are sold for a particular use.
The GECS team is based in Scotland, with export control colleagues in Asia Pacific and the US, and they have experience of export controls in many countries, exploring planning opportunities, developing strategies, and implementing procedures to minimise international trade costs, while assuring compliance with applicable government regulations.
