ALL-ENERGY CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION

ABERDEEN - 25 & 26 MAY 2005

The scene is set for a highly successful All-Energy 2005. Once again attendance at the exhibition and the multi-streamed All-Energy conference, to be opened by Energy Minister, Mike O'Brien MP, will be free of charge to all with a professional interest in renewable energy.

The All-Energy 2005 exhibitor list is expanding on a daily basis and already features four of the world's major wind turbine manufacturers (GE Energy, REpower, Siemens - who recently took over Bonus, and Vestas); wave and tidal device developers, and contractors and suppliers supporting all elements of the renewable energy industry.

The 2004 event saw nearly 200 exhibiting companies taking part and over 1800 attending, and All-Energy 2005 looks set to break that record - a far cry from the 50 exhibiting companies and 350 attendees who were at the very first event in the series in 2001. The latest floorplan and list of exhibitors is at www.all-energy.co.uk

Aberdeen - the centre of renewable attention
In late May Aberdeen will be very much the centre of attraction for the renewable energy industry. The World Renewable Energy Congress (WREC 2005) will run alongside All-Energy with the All-Energy exhibition acting as the exhibition for both events. There's more ---- Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce will host a renewable energy business breakfast on 25 May and the one-day Renewable Power Association's WATTS 2005 (Wave and Tidal Technology Symposium) will also be held alongside All-Energy on the same day. That evening the giant All-Energy networking session will be held - part fun, part business, but wholly to ensure exhibitors and visitors are able to meet, mix and mingle with others in the industry.

Strong support
All-Energy 2005 is held in association with BWEA - the British Wind Energy Association; and Scottish Renewables, the forum for the Scottish renewables energy industry. The Society for Underwater Technology is the learned patron of the event; and Aberdeen City Council the principal sponsor of the show that is organised by Media Generation Events Ltd and Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. Aberdeen is extremely well represented at the show with a large pavilion for local companies and other organisations.

"We are delighted to hear how well things are shaping up for All-Energy 2005," said Rita Stephen, Head of Economic Development, Aberdeen City Council. "The uptake from Aberdeen companies booking space in our large area of the show is most encouraging and reflects the growing importance of, and interest in, renewable energy locally.
"We are working ever-more closely with the organisers of the annual show, and look forward to welcoming visitors and exhibitors from all over the UK and further afield to Aberdeen in May. All-Energy 2005 will combine a highly topical conference; an exhibition showcasing the latest technology and services; and a networking event that will ensure business connections are made, and built on, in a constructive, stimulating and enjoyable way."

"We are delighted by, and grateful for, the support and encouragement that Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG) give to the show," says David Stott, Chairman of Media Generation Events Ltd.
"The Council and AREG have been incredibly supportive since the very early days of All-Energy and it is a credit to them, and to companies in the city and surrounding region, that the show is going from strength to strength. It certainly provides a superb showcase for Aberdeen-based companies involved in all aspects of the renewable energy industry and we are delighted to see so many of them planning to exhibit.
"There is also an impressive and growing presence from organisations representing the Highlands and Islands region, and other parts of Scotland; but the show is far from being an exclusively Scottish event. This year we have exhibitors from all over the UK and from Denmark and Germany too."

Highly topical conference
The All-Energy 2005 conference will get off to a flying start on 25 May with an opening address by Energy Minister, Mike O'Brien MP in a keynote plenary session; the plenary keynote session on 26 May will address Scottish issues in particular.
Parallel sessions running during the two days at the conference, which is free for all with a professional interest in renewable energy, will address renewable sources:- on- and offshore wind, wave and tidal, bioenergy, hydrogen and fuel cells, hydro, solar/PV, micro renewables, and clean energy. And, there will be sessions too devoted to the challenges and issues: - the grid; offshore renewables - safety issues and lessons learned; winning hearts and minds; training and skills shortages; the community; and, naturally, the key issue of finance and funding. The conference programme, first in outline form, and then in more detail will be posted to the All-Energy 2005 website at www.all-energy.co.uk
