SPACES GOING FAST FOR OFFSHORE EUROPE
Stand space on the prime site occupied by Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire Councils at Offshore Europe is going fast.
Companies with an interest in being represented on the authorities’ stand at the event, one of the world’s foremost oil and gas conferences and exhibitions, should get in touch soon to secure their place.
Many thousands of energy sector representatives are expected in the city for OE2005, which will be held at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre from September 6-9.
Staged biennially in Aberdeen, a globally recognised energy city, OE is the most prestigious business conference and exhibition of its kind to be held here.
In 2003, the event attracted over 26,000 industry stakeholders with 1,500 exhibitors from 104 countries taking part. The event generates an estimated £12 million for the local economy.
The exhibition showcases the advances being made in offshore technology, management, production and services. It provides a stimulating week for all involved in the industry where exhibitors can sell to a world-wide market.
Key personnel from offshore oil and gas exploration and production companies, drilling contractors, engineering contractors, supply and service companies and government and academia will be in attendance.
Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire Councils have secured a prime site, in front of the entrance to the exhibition hall, which literally can’t be missed by thousands of visitors. It offers an ideal opportunity to showcase, the city, the north-east and its businesses, and includes space for 22 companies.
And as an added incentive to would-be exhibitors, Walker Technical Resources is offering £500 to help an SME engineering company make the most of the opportunity to take a stand under the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire Councils umbrella. John Langler of Walker Technical Resources said: “We feel it is important to try and help local companies develop within the energy industry and are delighted to be able to offer financial assistance to this end.”

Rita Stephen, Head of Economic Development with Aberdeen City Council, said: “Taking a stand at Offshore Europe presents the Council with an excellent opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to the industry, showcase Aberdeen businesses and showcase the City as a business location and desirable place to live.
“Exhibiting with the council at OE provides a number of benefits associated with being part of a large group presence situated in a prime position at the entrance to the show.
"Companies benefit from being part of a high-profile, two-tier stand representing 292 metres square of quality design and build, the use of an informal meeting area, a communication centre featuring telephone, fax, e-mail and web access and a business lounge with hospitality facilities."
